How to Create a Boho-Chic Glow in Your Home

Boheme decor

Boheme decor generally is associated more with individuals in the creative arts. However, it is equally eclectic in nature and that's why boho style decor doesn't have any set rules when it comes to logo design decor. Instead, both decor takes the "less is more" approach, blending all kinds of different colors, patterns, and materials when desired. This is what makes both so uniquely funky unique, and interesting.

For example, one of the primary elements of Bohemian style is that of textiles - specifically hand woven wool or cotton rugs, florals, and fringes. Textiles are typically a lot more bold than other kinds of designs, including crochet patterns. As such, you'll find a plethora of bold patterns in various textures and fabrics. However, one of the most popular textures and patterns found in both decor today is the open-woven sari.

Typically found in Bohemian homes and apartments, these are small rugs or cushions that hang on the wall. They can either be made from 100% cotton or polyester, but there is some variation even within those categories. For example, an open-woven sari might have a border running around it, while the exact same pattern can have a totally separate border running around it. This kind of irregularity adds a sense of movement and exploration to the space. One might imagine hanging these tiny pillows on the wall as a sort of magnetic shield - protecting the couch and floor cushions from damage and providing additional seating when desired.

Speaking of floor cushions, these are another great way to incorporate patterns into your Bohemian style decorating. If wall hangings aren't your thing, then you might want to think about layering wall-mounted cushions on a large frame. This way, the wall-cushion will actually act as a background for your intricate embroidery. The same effect can be achieved by using throw pillows on your sofa. Again, choose complimentary colors for your throw pillows and use them to frame and embellish your decor in such a way that the pillows and other elements all work together to create an inviting, cozy environment. Throw pillows and floral accents are especially popular in this decorating scheme.

Finally, Bohemian furniture is another common theme found in both spaces. Much like floor cushions, vintage mirrors are also a great way to layer old pieces with new vintage finds. Vintage mirrored chairs are especially great for adding a unique retro feel to your space. This style furniture will help to bring the retro part of your home together with the modern vibe.

When decorating in the Bohemian style, it's important to have the right accessories. One of the easiest ways to layer different items is to use rugs. Bohemian rugs are available in almost any color, from pastel to bold and everything in between. The right rugs can even be used in conjunction with vintage decor to further tie the whole look together.

With a little bit of planning and creativity, you can turn your bedroom into a bright, colorful oasis. Bohemian interior design can mean bright oranges and pinks or deep purples. You can play with bold color palettes to create a funky space or keep things very neutral so as not to overpower the room. The best thing to do is get inspiration from the colors of the street, pop art paintings or even boho fashion to really bring a contemporary edge to your space.

Bohemian boho style decor can be used to create any number of spaces. For instance, you could create an oasis by pairing a rich burgundy couch with soft floral accents and a plant wall hanging. Add soft cushions and a few pillows in contrasting colors to create a sleeping area. If you're working with a large space, add a pop of color by mixing in deep purples and deep maroons. Mix in blues and greens for a harmonious space or keep the blues and greens subtle to enhance the oasis feeling.
